The last step of the Job Ready Program (JRP) is the Job Ready Final Assessment (JRFA). This stage confirms that you have successfully completed all program requirements and are fully job ready in your nominated occupation. A positive JRFA outcome gives you the official skills assessment result required to apply for permanent residency visas such as subclass 189, 190, or 491.
Why JRFA matters for migration
The JRFA outcome is the ultimate goal of the JRP. It provides the skills assessment letter that the Department of Home Affairs requires for skilled migration. Without it, you cannot lodge permanent residency applications based on your trade or occupation. By securing a successful JRFA outcome, you:
- Prove your skills and work experience meet Australian industry standards
- Obtain the mandatory skills assessment for skilled migration visas
- Strengthen your eligibility for permanent residency in Australia
Eligibility for JRFA
To apply for the JRFA, you must have:
- Successfully passed the Job Ready Workplace Assessment (JRWA)
- Completed at least 12 months of full-time (or equivalent part-time) employment in your nominated occupation with a TRA-approved employer
- Submitted an Employment Confirmation Form (ECF) and provided pay evidence that covers your 12-month eligibility date
What happens after you apply
TRA will review your documents and confirm your eligibility. Once approved, you will receive your official skills assessment outcome letter by email. This letter is what you will use when applying for permanent residency visas.
Fees and timelines
- JRFA application fee: AUD $75
- Processing time: TRA generally issues the outcome letter within 45 days of receiving a complete application.
Outcomes
- Successful JRFA: You receive your official skills assessment letter, which can be used for permanent residency visa applications.
- Unsuccessful JRFA: This may occur if you provided false or incomplete information, or if you did not meet employment requirements. You may request a review within 20 days if you disagree with the outcome.
